I don't know what it is about us humans, some people call it a "kindred spirit" others just call it a common interest. The fact is that each of us has either one, two or perhaps numerous things that really cause us to come alive. For some it's gardening, cooking, surfing, fishing, sewing, caring for others and yes even heating iron to it's softest state and forcing it into a useful tool or a decorative piece of art. How wonderful it is when you find a friend that has a similar interest as you. How much more wonderful it is when those friends with similar interests also have the same love for the Lord. The fellowship doubles and the bonds become as strong as forge welded steel. It is for this reason I have the desire to unite people who have a love for blacksmithing and who also claim the name of the Lord Jesus as Savior.

When I think about the blacksmiths I know or have met over the years, a few things stand out to me. Most blacksmiths I know are the humblest of people and at the same time passionate. They come from meager backgrounds yet they stand out among men. I don't know that I've met any wealthy blacksmiths but I have definitely met many who are rich in the confidence that they can take an ordinary piece of carbon steel, heat it, beat it, bend it, harden and temper it into a useful tool or instrument. It is from that confidence they derive the satisfaction that creates in them a feeling of wealth that far exceeds that brought about by money.

Welcome to Christian Blacksmiths International website. CBI is a non-denominational group that exists for the overall purpose of "Forging People of God." It is my hope as founder of CBI that men and women with a passion for forging iron and a Love for the Lord Jesus Christ would come together to share their knowledge of the forge and the truth of the gospel with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers around the world.

I hope this site is an encouragement to you. I pray the Lord will use all contents here to reveal himself to you in a great way.

About the Founder

I wrote this page a number of times and every time I ended up feeling like I was bragging on myself. Let me just say that I'm originally from Bellevue, Ohio. I'm 36 years old and currently I am serving as a Missionary in Managua, Nicaragua. I have been a Christian since Dec 12th of 1994. You can read about how that happened in my testimony. Among many other things blacksmithing is a continuing interest and passion. I'm hoping others will come to know themselves and Christ through this medium. If there is something you are just dying to know please feel free to ask.
